'England undone by poor Uruguay' - 2014 World Cup

Uruguay 2-1 England

QPR manager Harry Redknapp "Luis Suarez was the difference. Uruguay brought back a world-class player and his goals were fantastic. He is better than anything we have.

"But it has been disappointing. I think it was an average Italy we lost to last week and last night, against a very poor Uruguay, we got undone. The way we are going you wouldn't bet against us beating Costa Rica.

"I'm sure Roy Hodgson should continue, he couldn't have done any more and you can see it was a happy camp.

"We should play the way that Liverpool played last season and when Roy does call it a day there are two young managers up on Merseyside in Roberto Martinez and Brendan Rodgers who are absolutely fantastic."

England had more shots on target (six to two), more possession (63% to 37%), more territory (51% to 49%), made more passes (436 to 257) and completed more of those passes (82% completion rate to 64%).
Uruguay scored more goals.
