France make mockery of FIFA World ranking by thrashing Switzerland in their second match of the 2014 World Cup.
Olivier Giroud help Les Bleus to a great start with goals from Blaise Matuidi, Mathieu Valbuena and Moussa Sissoko and Karim Benzema to completes 5-2 win. Blerim Dzemaili and Granit Xhaka grabbed the consolation goals for La Nati.
Its really hard to say how bad Switzerland were defensively, they were a shambles, one of the worst you will ever see at a World Cup. France could have scored seven or eight.
5-2 scoreline and a defeat that could easily have been heavier, making a mockery of Fifa world rankings that currently have the Swiss at six and the French at 17th.
The movement and quality up front from the French was fantastic, but Giroud was utterly unplayable.
Another excellent spectacle in this thrilling World Cup.
France take on Ecuador in their final game at the Maracana on Wednesday while Switzerland must dust themselves off for a huge final game against Honduras.
