Russia 1– 1 Korea Republic |
Both teams manage to contrive to miss chances in the first half of an even, back and forth match before the Koreans opened the scoring in the 68th minute. Substitute Lee Kuen Ho’s shot on goal was bundled over the line by Russian keeper Igor Akinfeev to gift the Koreans a 1-0 lead. However, the Russians would score with their own substitute Alexander Kerzhakov on 74 minutes after the Koreans failed to clear the ball out of the box after the original chance on goal. Both teams would share the spoils in a very even 1-1 draw and are both tied for 2nd spot in group H behind Belgium.
